টেনিস বর্তমান বিশ্বের একটি জনপ্রিয় খেলা। অনেকে এটাকে লস টেনিস নামে জানে। যারা এই খেলা খেলে তাদেরকে টেনিস খেলোয়াড় বলে। টেনিস খেলার জন্য প্রয়োজন একটি ব্যাট যেটি র‍্যাকেট নামে পরিচিত,একটি বল,একটি জাল। উইম্বলেডন চ্যাম্পিয়নশীপ, অস্ট্রেলিয়ান ওপেন, ফ্রেঞ্চ ওপেন এবং ইউএস ওপেন  - টেনিসের চারটি বড় প্রতিযোগিতা এই  গুলো  প্রতি বছর নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। টেনিস খেলা দুই ভাবে খেলা যায়: একজন বনাম একজন দুইজন বনাম দুইজন পুরুষ ও নারী নিয়ে গঠিত দলগুলো মিক্সড ডাবলস নামে পরিচিত। টেনিস খেলা যেখানে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় তাকে টেনিস কোর্ট বলে। টেনিস কোর্টের  দৈর্ঘ্যে ৭৮ ফুট এবং প্রস্থে ৩৯ ফুট এবং সিঙ্গেল কোর্ট প্রস্থে ২৭ ফুট হয়ে থাকে। চতুর্ভূজ আকৃতির কোর্টকে দুই ভাগে ভাগ করে এরপর  মাঝে একটি জাল টাঙানো হয়ে থাকে।   জালের দুই পাশে দু'টি করে চারটি সার্ভিস কোর্ট বিদ্যমান থাকে। টেনিস খেলায় দুই পক্ষের খেলোয়াড় জালের বিপরীত দিকে এক জন্য অন্য জনের সরাসরি  অবস্থান করে। একদিকের খেলোয়াড় বলটি প্রথমে মারে তার অপর দিকের বিপরীত পাশের খেলোয়াড়ের দিকে। একে সার্ভ করা হয়ে থাকে। যে বল মারবে সে হল

মহাস্থানগড়

মহাস্থানগড় দেশের অন্যতম পুরাকীর্তি। এটি বগুড়া জেলায় শিবগঞ্জ উপজেলায় অবস্থিত। ১৮০৮ সালে ফ্রান্সিস বুকনন হ্যামিন্টন সর্বপ্রথম  স্থানটি আবিষ্কার করেছিলেন। ১৮৭৯ সালে আলেকজান্ডার কানিংহাম  স্থানটিকে প্রাচীন পুন্ড্রবর্ধনের ধ্বংসাবশেষ হিসেবে সনাক্ত  করেছিলেন।  যে প্রাচীন কালে বাংলার জনপদ ছিল পুন্ড্র।পুন্ড্রদের আবাসস্থলেই পুন্ড্রবর্ধন নামে পরিচিত। পুন্ড্রের প্রাচীন রাজধানী ছিল পুন্ড্রনগর।আনুমানিক  ৪ শতকে এ নগর গড়ে ওঠেছিল।পুন্ড্রনগরের বর্তমান নাম হচ্ছে মহাস্থানগড়। মহাস্থানগড়ে রয়েছে অনেক দর্শনীয় জনক স্থান  যেমন শাহ সুলতান বলখীর মাজার,পরশুরামের প্রসাদ,খোদার পাথর ভিটা,বৈরাগির ভিটা ইত্যাদি।মহাস্থানগড়ে একটি ব্রাক্ষী লিপি পাওয়া গেছে যাকে  বাংলার প্রাচীন লিপি। ২০১৭ সালে মহাস্থানগড়কে সার্ক সাংস্কৃতিক রাজধানী হিসেবে ঘোষনা দেয়া হয়। ধন্যবাদ
